Post-refurbishment healthcare air testing

Refurbishment work in healthcare buildings introduces dust, VOCs and ventilation disturbance. Post-refurbishment air testing confirms that the refurbished space is fit for clinical handover and that adjacent occupied areas have not been contaminated by the works.

Post-refurbishment healthcare air testing — Healthcare Air Quality UK
01

What we test

Particulate burden at the patient zone in the refurbished space, total VOC load, ventilation rates and pressure regimes against the design and HTM 03-01 expectations, and condition of adjacent occupied rooms where dust ingress is a risk.

02

Timing

Testing is sequenced after final clean and ventilation commissioning but before clinical occupation. For larger projects we recommend a baseline test before works to anchor the post-works comparison.

03

Outputs

A handover-ready report with measured data, status against HTM 03-01 and any project-specific specifications, and a clear sign-off statement for the project and clinical teams.
