What a healthcare ventilation assessment includes
Assessments typically cover AHU condition and control performance, supply and extract volumes, room air change rates, pressure differentials between adjacent rooms, filter condition and integrity, ductwork access and hygiene, and the alignment of in-service performance with the original design intent. Each room is benchmarked against the relevant HTM 03-01 Part A or HBN classification.
Healthcare ventilation testing in practice
Engineers carry calibrated anemometers, micromanometers and particle counters. We capture readings at multiple grilles per room, record fan and damper behaviour, and confirm directional airflow at critical doorways. Reports highlight non-conformities with HTM 03-01 and supporting standards, ranked by clinical risk.
Outputs and follow-up
The deliverable is a detailed ventilation assessment report with measured data, deviation summaries and remediation recommendations. Where the survey identifies underperforming systems, we link the findings into validation testing, ventilation hygiene work or AHU and duct cleaning programmes.
What's included
- Air change rate verification per room
- Pressure differential survey across critical doorways
- Filter and AHU condition assessment
- HTM 03-01 conformity review
- Prioritised remediation plan
