Healthcare duct cleaning

Ductwork in healthcare buildings accumulates the same dust, debris and biofilm as any commercial system, but with much greater consequence. Our healthcare duct cleaning programmes are sequenced around clinical operations and validated against BESA TR19 (Air) expectations.

Why healthcare duct cleaning is different

Clinical spaces cannot be taken offline lightly. Healthcare duct cleaning has to be planned around theatre lists, ward decants and infection prevention constraints. We work in zones, with HEPA-filtered extraction and clear isolation of working areas from clinical zones.

02

Method

Pre-clean survey, access panel installation where missing, mechanical brushing and HEPA vacuum extraction, optional decontamination treatment, and post-clean verification with photographic and deposit measurement evidence. Records are issued in a format suitable for HTM 03-01 and TR19 (Air) compliance files.

03

Frequency

Frequency depends on duct type, system use and clinical risk. Higher-risk supply ductwork is typically inspected annually and cleaned on a risk-based cycle; extract ductwork serving laboratories, mortuaries and theatres needs tighter intervals.
